The California Board of Cosmetology is citing salons that use the same nail file on more than one client. Texas, Kansas and Colorado also say toss the nail file after each client. Many state regulatory boards have similar regulations, because nail files and foot files are a perfect vehicle for spreading nail fungus and mold from one client to another.
