Purifiles® by Flowery Celebrates 15 Years of Safe Services

In the early 90’s, washing cushioned files was the state of the art in file sanitation. But ordinary cushioned files are bonded to fibrous paper which traps water and pulls apart after repeated immersion. Flowery was looking for a better way. They made a polyester-backed abrasive with a special protective coating, and bonded it to a closed cell foam that does not absorb moisture. And Purifiles® were born, specifically designed to be immersed in disinfectant, creating a new category in the industry of disinfectable files.

Today, salon sanitation is one of the hottest issues in the industry, with any health problems due to poor practices receiving much press, and state boards across the country tightening regulations. Purifiles meet state board guidelines in all 50 states.

“Purifiles were well received when we launched them, and continue to attract a loyal following 15 years later. Purifiles are available in two shapes, straight or tapered, and in 4 different grit combinations (2 grits on each file). There is also a Purifiles foot file, which incorporates the Swedish Clover™ handle design into an immersible foot file.
